EMC Standards and Regulations
EMC standards are developed by industry and government bodies, and are often confused
with EMC regulations which are enacted by governments. EMC standards in Australia and New
Zealand are jointly developed by Standards Australia and Standards New Zealand, and are
closely related to the European standards.
In recent years, the Australian and New Zealand governments have commited
themselves to the implementation of an EMC framework based upon a suite of standards. To
effect compliance with the requirements of the EMC framework, suppliers or manufacturers
will need to address all the relevant standards.
The supplier or manufacturer will be responsible for compliance by means of a Declaration
of Conformity available from ACA (click here to download the form)
before being able to place a product on the market.
